As Practice Lead of Creative Partnerships for the Experience Design (XD) group, Chris talks a lot - evangelizing XD and a 'Change the World' agenda is no small task...
Making this message and story telling a little easier is a background as a former Art Director and BFA in Design and Art History. A perpetual need to espouse the efforts of one of the top UE groups in the country also makes spreading the word helpful as well!
Sharing this knowledge with our community of designers and developers also creates a platform for which enthusiasm and passion of our mission can be easily communicated. Of which, at its’ core and very simply is: through our tools, through our curiosity we are driven to help people make better experiences.
In addition to Adobe, Chris has also worked at Apple and Macromedia, amongst other companies involved in innovative, collaborative communication.

If you’ve ever seen Jared speak about usability, you know that he’s probably the most effective, knowledgeable communicator on the subject today. What you probably don’t know is that he has guided the research agenda and built User Interface Engineering into the largest research organization of its kind in the world. Gever holds the deliberately ambiguous title of Computer Scientist in the Experience Design sub-group of the User Experience group at Adobe Systems Incorporated. In this capacity, he explores solutions to the problem of design fidelity through conception to deployment. Most recently he was a key member of the team which deployed the Tour of California web experience. In just six weeks from design to live coverage of an event, which boasts the largest cumulative attendance in California history, the Tour Tracker incorporated services from Adobe, Flickr, Yahoo, Akamai, and CSC in one giant fault-tolerant mashup. While not strictly a sports-event specialist, Gever has worked on live web coverage of the Sydney Olympics, Americas Cup, CART, and Moto GP. In addition, he once pioneered organic video effects at the brilliant, but ill-fated, special effects house Xaos Tools, developed early 3D web experiences at Construct, and developed enterprise software enabling low-volume, high-relevance direct marketing materials for Nimblefish. For many years he was a member of the highly-acclaimed Helium consulting group which developed custom solutions for such diverse clients as The San Francisco 49ers, AXA/Rosenberg, Quokka Sports, and Adobe. When he is not at his day job, Gever runs the Tinkering School which explores immersive curricula for teaching kids ages 7 to 17 how build the things they think of. Every spring he teaches paragliding at Advanced Paragliding, and, with whatever time remains, he cuts metal with his CNC plasma torch.
